SotD Update, 9th to 14th December 2019

Not a good week by any stretch of the imagination and no real plausible reason behind it. The only comfort I can draw from the week is that the only two runners to make the the frame were the two I fancied the most, but one runner-up and one third place doesn't represent decent form, nor does it pay the bills!

This means that halfway through the month, I've work to do to end in profit, especially with fewer betting opportunities courtesy of the short Christmas break, but I'm not going down without a fight!

A huge day on Boxing Day with eight domestic horse racing fixtures, but the festive highlight, as racing resumes after a two-day break, is the King George VI Meeting at Kempton Park.

The King George VI  Chase is of course the feature race on the day as punters will look to get their Christmas expenses paid for – a race in recent years we’ve seen horse racing greats like Kauto Star, Long Run, Best Mate, Kicking King, One Man and, more recently, Thistlecrack & Might Bite, landing the prize. Did you know - 13 of the last 17 King George winners were aged 8 or younger?

More importantly (perhaps, what is more important than coffee?!), today I reveal for the first time how Gold subscribers will be able to interact with the sectional data we're soon to publish.

Please don't worry if you're new to sectional content, and/or if it doesn't really make sense at this stage. Over the next year and beyond I/we will be doing lots to bring certain sectional scenarios to life so that you not only understand what the data are saying, but also when they're saying something notable in the context of today's race.

I'm not a sectional expert; rather, I'm a publisher and a student of (old style) form looking to cut my teeth in this new time-based world. It will be an interesting journey for all of us, and it starts for you - if you want it to - with the video below...

Why?...

Well, it's a simple "horses for courses" approach today, as we have an in-form 5 yr old gelding running in what look to be favoured conditions. His last four races have ended 1213, culminating in a very decent effort at Wolverhampton five days ago.   • 4 +1 / 6 here at Chelmsford = 66.6% SR and 30.42pts @ 507.1%

All Weather Warriors review

All Weather Warriors is one of two approaches offered by Michael Carr from Lucrative Racing in his new Racing Portfolio. Members signing up for All Weather Warriors also get access to Hurdle Heroes (which we're also reviewing here)

This strategy focuses on National Hunt Hurdling, and uses a three-tier selection method to find qualifiers for the daily Shortlist and according to Michael...

1. The All Weather Warriors strategy involves a three-tier selection process :
The first being a basic set of rules which helps to immediately reduce the number of races and horses to look at. We won't be disclosing Michael's rules for obvious reasons!
The second tier involves checking the betting market to identify which runners are likely to give value.
The third and final tier involves a closer look at the race in question, to compare the runners and identify which are most suited to the conditions.

By taking into account the race conditions, the other runners, and the available odds; we reduce the risk of blindly placing bets that have little chance of winning, or where the odds represent poor value.

2. I haven’t used a database of past races to create this strategy. Instead, All Weather Warriors has been reverse-engineered from my own results history of over 6,000 selections. Each and every selection has been bet with real money, and therefore profit on paper and profit in the real world, are one and the same.
For several years I created systems using Horseracebase, some of which were more successful than others. Towards the end of 2017 I began collecting my own data, based on the portfolio of strategies offered through Lucrative Racing.
This method has proven far more effective for identifying betting strategies that produce profit in the real world, not just on paper.

Hurdle Heroes Review

Hurdle Heroes is one of two approaches offered by Michael Carr from Lucrative Racing in his new Racing Portfolio. Members signing up for Hurdle Heroes also get access to All Weather Warriors (which we're also reviewing here)

This strategy focuses on National Hunt Hurdling, and uses a three-tier selection method to find qualifiers for the daily Shortlist and according to Michael...

1. The Hurdle Heroes strategy involves a three-tier selection process :
The first being a basic set of rules which helps to immediately reduce the number of races and horses to look at. We won't be disclosing Michael's rules for obvious reasons!
The second tier involves checking the betting market to identify which runners are likely to give value.
The third and final tier involves a closer look at the race in question, to compare the runners and identify which are most suited to the conditions.

By taking into account the race conditions, the other runners, and the available odds; we reduce the risk of blindly placing bets that have little chance of winning, or where the odds represent poor value.

2. I haven’t used a database of past races to create this strategy. Instead, Hurdle Heroes has been reverse-engineered from my own results history of over 6,000 selections. Each and every selection has been bet with real money, and therefore profit on paper and profit in the real world, are one and the same.
For several years I created systems using Horseracebase, some of which were more successful than others. Towards the end of 2017 I began collecting my own data, based on the portfolio of strategies offered through Lucrative Racing.
This method has proven far more effective for identifying betting strategies that produce profit in the real world, not just on paper.
